Heather here, from The Healthy Hen! I hope you are all enjoying your week!
Summer is right…I mean right around the corner! If you live in the Greater Cincy region, you have felt a few days in the upper 70s- lower 80s already! I can’t wait! I love summer, and with a winter like we just had…bring on the heat!
But along with the heat, summer also brings beautiful sun dresses, tank tops and ….. bathing suits! Blah!
I am ready for summer…but not for bathing suits!
We have a few awesome vacations planned this year and I want to be beach ready. So to celebrate the melt of the snow and the shine of the sun, Erin and I have decided to do an 8 week fitness/health boost! Watch out summer…here we come!
For 8 weeks, we are going to eat our veggies, stay away from sugars, eat fresh fruit and turn down fatty foods. For 8 little weeks, we are going to workout and be purposeful about how we fuel our bodies! For 8 weeks. Who’s with us? Who needs a little motivation, a little team spirit, a little jump start for the summer season?
To join in the fun follow our progress on instagram and twitter, and post your own updates! Be sure to use the hashtag…#fitin8weeks.
We can’t wait to follow your journey too! Let’s do it!
This is going to look different for each person, so do what’s best for your body and health. For me…week 1 is no carbs and yoga every day (check out some workout ideas here)! I am a huge supporter of a well-balanced diet..including complex carbs. But for one week, maybe 2..I am doing a little I-ate-too-much-this-winter cleanse.
So what do you say? Are you in? What do you have to lose…except for fat 🙂
What’s week one going to look like for you?
Leave a comment to let us know you’re in! I can’t wait.
Let’s do this together. #fitin8weeks. Here we come.
Heather blogs at The Healthy Hen, where she writes about being healthy in what we eat, what we do and how we live. She’s Mama Hen to 3 little chicks and wife to the Big Rooster. She’s passionate about being healthy and has a degree in Exercise Science. She believes being healthy is way, WAY, more than just eating salads and being gym rats. It’s about having fun and spending time with those you love, too. Going to the circus with your family can be just as healthy and good for you as running a 5k. Celebrating birthdays and watching your kids laugh is just as healthy for your soul as strength training is for your bones. Be healthy!
