We were able to try out three new apps from Evanced Kids recently. They have some really fun games that make learning fun. We downloaded all four of the apps they have and the kids love them all.
We limit the kids “screen time, but sometimes I just need to get some stuff done. 🙂 I like it when “screen time” is also learning time! 🙂 I also LOVE that they can play these games alone or together. If you are looking for some new apps for your kids to play, you should check these out.
They are great to have on your phone or ipad for when you are out and about, too. At the post office, oil change place or doctors office WAY longer than expected. No problem. I have an app for that. 🙂
Would you like to try one of these apps for free? Check them out and leave a comment on this post telling me which one you want to try and why. I will choose a winner from the comments on April 2 to get a free download code.
Ages 4-8. It’s Tic-Tac-Toe with letter patterns, decoding skills and word recognition. A cute monkey picture comes up revealing a partial word and then the player marks a spot on the grid with a banana or a coconut! Single and mulit-player. We have fun with this game. The pictures and sound effects will have the kids laughing (and learning)!
Ages 4-8. You make Froggy leap from lily pad to lily pad using simple phonics to catch fireflies. The more fireflies you collect, the more rewards you earn. This game helps teach the relationships between letters and their sounds with 900 words to discover. The Bean loves this one the most. He enjoys hopping froggy around to find his friend. Once he meets his friend in each level they get to take a picture together. He loves this part. It’s really cute.
Ages 4 and up. This is like kind of like Connect Four, with math facts. The kids have to use basic counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to outwit the other players or the computer. The levels are customizable for difficulty levels so that little kids can play with adults on a level playing field. This game combines strategic gameplay with math concepts to build critical thinking skills. This is the Bird’s favorite of the three new apps. She loves beating the computer. And I know she is using math skills and critical thinking to do it! WIN. WIN!!
