I don’t know about you, but I am getting tired of winter, and it’s only just getting started. *SIGH* I went on pinterest to find projects to help beat the winter doldrums and I found something that just might put a jot in your step, a Pom Pom Bib Necklace. It looked easy enough and I have tons of pretty, non wintery fabric to use so I got to work cutting out circles while watching mine and my husbands favorite TV show right now, Modern Family. I LOVE how it turned out!
All you need for this project is a sheet of felt, fabric, a necklace chain, glue gun and scissors. I used a roll of washi tape that was about an inch and a half wide to trace my circle pattern onto the felt. I then used it to cut out all the fabric circles.
I bought the Tori Spelling necklace chain at Jo-Ann’s. I LOVE the chain, but I wish it had been a little bit longer.
I folded each circle of fabric into quarters and glued the bottom to the felt piece in random places.
It only took a few minutes to do each of the pom pom’s.
I made five of them in total and then placed them on the left over white felt.
I glued the bottom three down to the felt with my hot glue gun. Make sure you have them as close as you want them. I wish mine had been a little bit closer.
Once the 3 bottom pom poms are glued down put some glue on one of the top ones and then put the chain on top of it and put it down on the felt. Do the same for the other side and VOILA!
You have a necklace! Of course, you have to cut the felt off around the necklace. Just be careful not to cut the pom poms.
This is what it looks like on the back side of the necklace.
Here I am wearing the finished necklace. I love the color and pattern of fabric I picked out and it’s comfortable to wear. I am definitely going to make more of these for myself! This is such an easy accent piece to any outfit! I’m always looking for cute and easy ways to spruce up my outfits, especially in the winter.
I hope you’re surviving the record lows if you’re in the US and if you’re enjoying warm temperatures right now, know that I am very envious of you!! Thanks for stopping by!
