I’ve been working on the Bird’s bedroom redo for a little while now. We moved into this house when she almost 2 and still in a crib…..and I was 8 months pregnant (and on bed rest) with the Bean. So, we moved her from her crib to a big girl bed VERY SOON after moving in!
Needless to say, she didn’t get much say in how her big girl room was decorated. Kevin painted it a really pretty pale pink and I went to Target and bought the cutest set I could afford. I actually LOVED how her room was.
Pale blues and pinks. Ric Rac and buntings. Chandeliers and pretty lamps. Vintage-y, girly, shabby chic. It was adorable. But, now that she’s 6 and has opinions (well, more opinions) it wasn’t really fitting her personality.
The Bird. Yeah, she’s kind of the opposite of all those things.
Her favorite show is ‘Call of the Wildman’ (You know that show about the guy from the backwoods of Kentucky with the mullet and 7 teeth who catches snapping turtles and other wild animals reeking havoc in peoples ponds and basements? Yeah, that one.)
Her favorite color is animal print. All of them. At the same time. And her favorite activity is catching and making all bugs, worms and insects her pets.
(and p.s. Wildman seems like a very nice guy and his show is pretty interesting. Plus, he’s from Kentucky….so.) 😉
Anyway, she asked for an animal room.
Every.Single.Day. She probably meant wild animals and camo. But, I went with Woodland Animals. Poetic licence. It’s my house after all. And I don’t want to cringe every time I walk into her room!
I can’t WAIT to show you how I transformed it. SOON. I promise.
But before that…..
It’s time for a Giveaway!!
Win a set of FOUR 8×10 art prints from Wallfry!
I started my search for cute woodland animal themed items on Pinterest, of course.
Which led me to Wallfry’s Etsy shop. Wall Art for Small Fry! HOW CUTE IS THAT NAME?! Jackpot. My search ended as soon as I opened Kylie’s shop. It’s filled to the brim with adorable prints for any kids room. Check some of these out.
Kylie was gracious enough to send me these prints for Lucie’s room and they are just perfect! I love them! Here’s a sneak peek of how they look in her almost finished room.
They look fabulous and the quality is seriously top notch. All of Wallfry’s wall art is printed on heavyweight smooth matte paper using a professional printer and ultrachrome archival pigment inks. And I love that all the prints are signed and dated. Such a nice touch.
And guess what?! Kylie is generously giving TWO of you lucky readers your very own set of FOUR 8×10 art prints from her website!
She has about anything you can imagine for your little’s rooms. It’s going to be hard for you to choose. Sorry. 😉
