Blinkbuggy – Reinventing the Baby Book

August 25, 2013 by Erin Leave a Comment

blinkbuggy-3

This is amazing.   And free.  I can’t wait to share this with you!   Seriously.  It’s a site called Blinkbuggy and they are reinventing the baby book.  (And it’s free)  It’s basically an online baby book and it might have just changed my life.   I know.  That sounds a little crazy.   But, I feel like it was invented just for me personally, because I failed MISERABLY on the baby books.

I hope that once you sign up and just try it out, you’ll see how easy and fun it is.

Oh – and it’s totally FREE!

Blinkbuggy takes the spirit of the traditional baby book and combines it with the internet.  GENIUS.

I have at least four baby books laying around my house somewhere.  (yes, I realize that I only have two kids so four books might have been a little overkill.)  I had VERY high hopes and expectations for my kids’ baby books.  So, I bought more than one to see which I would like the best.

I also bought special pens and markers and glue.  I saved cards and wrapping paper scraps.  And hair.  (curls.  I saved curls – that sounds less creepy.)   And then I sat down with all of my supplies and I filled out exactly one page in my daughters book.   And it looks great.

Awesome, except that this is as far as I got.   And now the rest sit empty, waiting for me to pour my memories into them.  Well, the problem is that now my kids are 6 and 4 and those precious memories are all gone.  Not even distant memories…..just gone.  hahaha.   Well, I guess I’m not the only one that has this dilemma, because Blinkbuggy exists for a reason!!!!  FOR ME!

As parents we are documenting our lives more than ever and it can quickly become overwhelming to try and print it and put it in book.  Instead of one focused baby book per child, parents today have 10,000 photos on a hard drive, 2, 000 pictures on a phone, 1,000 shares on Facebook, pictures on Instagram, e-mails to grandparents with funny things the kids have said, video links on You-Tube.  How can you put all that in a baby book anyway?  You don’t!  You put it on Blinkbuggy!

Blinkbuggy is a technology that helps moms (and dads) by making it easy and actually FUN to collect and connect all the most important moments and create meaningful stories.

Fun and easy – not overwhelming and scary!  All in one place.  And it can all be shared and passed on to the next generation!  GENIUS -Right?!  I told you!

It’s unique because it’s one place for EVERYTHING.  It brings together all the ways I record (or wanted to record) my memories.  You can add photo, video, written notes, artwork, milestones, quotes.  It is perfect.

Check out this little gem that Sam broke out with in the car the other day.  Sweet little four-year old bean!

It also has the privacy I want.  I can easily share memories, but only the ones I choose to share.  I control my data and who can see it with simple and flexible privacy controls.  Just a drop down and a click.

There are a lot of pictures that I don’t share on Facebook or Instagram, (like my kids in the bathtub or putting on a dance show in their undies). I mean, I think these things are hilarious and precious, but I don’t want some creepy friend of a friend of a friend to have access to them.   (And I just bet my friends and family know some creepers.  :))

I would print these out and put them in a baby book, (if I did that sort of thing).  But, not share them online.

But now I can put these memories on Blinkbuggy (so I don’t forget them) and set them to private while still keeping other pictures open.

You can also collaborate with family and friends by inviting others to share in the stores and contribute their own memories of events, which is super cool and a great feature.  I love that I can organize it so easily too.  I can tag and group all of my memories as I create them so I can find them at any moment.

I love that I can upload right from Instagram and Facebook, too.  Makes it so00 easy, since I have a lot of picture and memories already on those sites.  You can even upload from your friends’ and families Facebook accounts.  Here is a screen shot of uploading from my Instagram.  SIMPLE!

And my most favorite features are coming soon.  Very soon.  The mobile app will be launching in about a month and I just can’t wait.  I will be able to quickly send photos and written notes right into the system without being at my computer.  And another feature that will be added before Christmas is printable albums.   Then, I can actually have an actual paper baby book finished.  YAY!

Please give it a try.  I know you will be hooked like I am.  Go here to open your own account and start your own online baby book.

Remember your memories!  🙂
