Confession. I’m a snacker. And my husband is a snacker. And my kids are snackers (obviously because we are….sorry kids!) We try to make healthy choices around here and there are all kinds of simple, healthy snacks you can make. We love the healthy late-night snack ideas and all the kid friendly snack ideas from The Healthy Hen. We eat hummus and veggies and we eat fruit. We love chips and salsa. I love to make my own granola and make yogurt parfaits. We also love to make simple whole wheat cracker sandwiches with cheese or natural peanut butter. YUM. Don’t they look good?
But sometimes we just need to keep things simple and quick and easy. Swimming lessons, errand running, oil changes, unexpected stops, road trips. If we’re out and about and the Bean gets hungry….he gets nutty and GRUMPY! I mean really uncomfortable and frustrated. He becomes a different person. It’s completely ridiculous and since he’s only 4, I’m sure he’ll out grown it and learn how to handle himself when he’s hungry! Goofy four year olds! He must be growing or something. But, for now, I like to keep granola bars or cracker packs in my purse, just in case! Sometimes we need to be out in public longer than I thought and he starts to crash.
Let’s spare the innocent bystanders and give that boy a little snack.
