Today’s guest poster is Heather from The Healthy Hen. She’s a cool mama to three kiddos, she’s a talented blogger and fitness coach and she’s my SISTER! Please check her out at the Healthy Hen….I know you will LOVE IT.
She recently re-did her boys room using nothing more than Fatheads. You know….those enormous decals of sports figures. I usually see the commercials for them when my husband has a football game on. (And the commercials are my favorite part of the games.) Heather needed to fix some spots in the boys room and didn’t want to paint or putty or repair drywall. Fatheads came to the rescue! Fatheads. LARGER THAN LIFE, FOR REAL.
Take it away, Heather…..
Hi, I’m Heather over at The Healthy Hen! I’m a Mama Hen to three little chicks and wife to the one and only Mr. Rooster. I’ve always been interested in health, nutrition and fitness, so much so that I studied it in college and earned a Bachelors in Exercise Science. More importantly, I am a fully devoted Christian and I try to live in a way that honors the One who made, redeemed and loves me. I believe that God made us to enjoy the life He blessed us with and to bring Him glory in doing so. I hope to be an encouragement to others to live well!
Have you ever seen those commercials for Fathead wall decorations? You know, those HUGE wall graphics of football players. I’ve seen them and I’ve always thought to myself, “Who on earth would want one of those in their house?”
Well…I DO! 🙂
I had no clue that you could get SUPER HERO Fatheads! They actually have a wide variety of cool and kid friendly wall decals! Princesses, cartoons, animals, beach scenes and of course sports! You can even make your own, with your very own picture! So cool!
I have two boys who share a room, so needless to say it smells, it’s messy, and there are dings and chips in every one of the walls! Fatheads are a perfect way for me to hide the many, many (many) blemishes.
Here are some “before” pictures. See those giant, evenly-spaced holes? Thanks to Pinterest, that’s where cute little Ikea spice rack bookshelves used to be. I think they were up for about 2 days before the boys used them like rock climbing holds and ramps for their cars. (At least they’re active, right?) 🙂
And now for the beautifully disguised “after” shot!
The Fatheads perfectly hid each and every hole, and the boys absolutely LOVE them, and I didn’t have to paint….win, win, win!
Gotta say that now I can add “I will never get a Fathead to my growing list of ‘never say nevers’!
Here are some picture of other people and their Fatheads.
Check out how Krystal used her Fathead here, at My Life of Travels and Adventures.
Love the superhero theme! My son is just 1 now … but if my husband has his way I may be dreaming up a superhero room someday 🙂
