This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mrs. Smith’s for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
The “holiday season” is officially here. I actually don’t like calling it that. I much prefer “Christmas” over “holiday”. But, I’m including Thanksgiving in there, so holiday it is. :)
The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas is so fun to me. I know it gets hectic, but I.LOVE.IT! Parties, family get-togethers, frying turkeys, cookie exchanges, Christmas lights, school parties, decorating the house, getting cards in the mail, work parties (I love parties), eating, baking. Wait. I hate baking.
I like eating baking goods, but I HATE baking. It’s much too precise for me. I like throwing things together. It seems like every party we’re invited to this year I have to bring a dessert, too. ARG. Mrs. Smith’s made that easy on me. Mrs. Smith’s Signature Deep Dish pies are amazing. All I have to do is pop them in the oven. No dishes to wash, no crust to make, no recipe to follow. My house smells like I’ve been working hard, and they are so delicious.
We got to try all four kinds and they are fantstic. They each come with a fun sauce. (Sometimes I feel like I only eat food so that I can eat sauce! haha. Sauce is my favorite part of any meal. Is that strange?) The varieties are Dutch Apple with Carmel Sauce, Cherry with Butter Fudge Sauce, Peach with Cream Cheese Icing and Pumpkin with Cream Cheese Icing.
Our favorite was the Cherry Pie. Kevin’s favorite dessert ever in the universe is cherry pie with whipped cream, so he was pretty happy. I made it extra special by making some bourbon whipped cream to go with the cherry and pumpkin pies. It was Thanksgiving, so it seemed like a good idea! All I did was add 1 tablespoon of bourbon to 1 cup of whipped cream. It was FANTSASTIC! :)
Mrs. Smith’s is letting me give away a coupon for a free pie AND A $50 gift card to Williams-Sonoma!!
