I’m so excited to announce that we have a new contributor here at A Bird and A Bean! Her name is Amy Proffitt and I just know you will love her as much as I do. She is an amazing graphic artist and will be our “Free Printables” contributor. She will blow you away with her cute ideas! I have a spanking-new Thanksgiving printable from her to post tomorrow. Be sure to check back. You will want this one!
Amy is a midwestern girl currently living in Germany with her family. She runs her fab Etsy shop, Proffitt Productions, which is actually how I met her. I was bored and on bedrest with the bean and I found myself searching around on Etsy for hours for a cute birth announcement and “we’ve moved / change of address” card. The rest is history. She has since made every Christmas card, party decoration, invitation and printable that I have needed for the last 4 years! Almost every room of my house has a piece of her art hanging on the walls. She even designed the logos and graphics for this very blog! 😉 We had the pleasure of meeting in real life this summer when her family was stateside for a vacation. We had so much fun introducing our families, swimming, hanging out and eating! Take it away Amy……
Hi! I’m Amy, daytime graphic designer and full-time mother, wife, and daughter. I have two adorable boys who fill my days with dirt, noise and unbearable love. They’re actually the reason that I quit practicing architecture (okay, I’ll level with you on that one, the economy forced tons of layoffs so I got out early) and took up graphic design. When my eldest was born I couldn’t find the perfect birth announcement so I made my own. Friends of mine mentioned that I should make the designs available to others, so that’s just what I did. I haven’t looked back since. It’s honestly tons more fun than designing stairwells and bathrooms. One of my favorite parts of the graphics business is seeing families grow. Erin, whose wonderful blog is hosting me today, had me design her son’s birth announcement. I’ve since done their holiday cards, the Bird’s party invitations, room decor prints, and just about anything graphics related for her. I consider her a good friend now and making friends is definitely the best part of my job! You can find me at www.aproffittablelife.
Amy’s bringing a housewarming gift to us today. She’s giving away $25 to spend on anything in her Etsy store!! You can get your Christmas cards taken care of, or a party invitation for New Years, or a party kit, or cupcake toppers, or any combination of those things!! It’s a great giveaway. I had her design my Christmas cards this week. I LOVE THEM! I took her PDF to Vistaprint and ordered 100 postcards for $12.99!! Or you can have your design printed at Walgreens. If you don’t see something that suits your needs in her shop, just convo her, she will fix something right up.
I LOVE this! http://www.etsy.com/listing/71516984/printable-party-package-in-design-girl

I thought that all of the Holiday items were cute! I particularly liked the ladybug invitations/thank you cards because that is the theme for my daughter’s first birthday!
