the grass is always greener

March 27, 2012 by Erin 1 Comment

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts® for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

My husband is obsessed with our grass.  It’s a strange sickness that I don’t fully understand.  No one I know thinks about their lawn as much as he does.  I’ve never really given it much thought, because I’ve never really cared about it.  🙂  I figure as long as it’s cut regularly and isn’t completely brown, it’s good.  But he has given it much thought.  He wants ours to be a lush, beautiful, thick, green carpet that begs to be walked on with bare feet.  🙂  That actually does sound really nice, so I’m all for it.  Every year that we’ve lived here our grass has gotten a little bit nicer.   He waters it and aerates it and over-seeds it and feeds it.   It’s really sad though because right now it looks like this.

We got a puppy about a month ago and this is the result…..disgusting brown spots and holes .  🙁  Poor Kevin and all of his hard work.

But, how cute is that puppy?!?   The bird and the bean LOVE our new addition.  She’s a 4 month old golden doodle named Molly.   We love her, but she’s reeking havoc on our lawn!

I just read about Scotts® Snap® Spreader System and thought it might just be perfect for the hubs and his lawn obsession.  I really think Kevin will love it.

I also really appreciate that Scotts makes an organic fertilizer.   It completely freaks me out to put scary chemicals on the grass where my kids and dog play.  We’ve always used organic treatments in the past and hopefully the organic version is available in the Snap System too.

The Snap pack connects directly to the Snap Spreader, no cutting, opening or pouring.  No spilling or waste.  It auto sets to the right flow rate and has a unique edge guard that keeps the product on the lawn and not on the driveway or sidewalk.  When he’s done, it self seals for easy storage.  The Snap Packs come filled with grass seed or fertilizer.

I ADORE Spring and all the gorgeous new green life everywhere.  This spreader just might need to go on our ever growing outdoor maintenance list.  I absolutely can’t wait get started on the vegetable garden, flowers and landscaping.  Kevin can’t wait to have a green lawn again.  Spring is here!  I want to get busy planting my garden.  I just love it.
