Over the summer my laptop started making really strange grinding noises and it freaked me out!!! I took it directly to the genius bar.
Their first question was “What do you use to back up your computer?” My answer, “Um…nothing.” They were shocked and appalled. They shook their genius heads and evaluated the noise and decided it was crumbs. hehe. But they stressed again how important backing it up is. They suggested using at least two ways. So, I drove myself straight to Best Buy to get an external hard drive. The people at Best Buy also assured me that this was not enough. What if there were a fire? Or what happens when the hard drive fails. (bound to happen eventually) So, I also looked into online backup options. I asked friends and family members and I heard the same thing. Carbonite. So, I purchased it. I haven’t looked back.
Carbonite
It works like a charm. Carbonite unlimited online backup works automatically and continually in the background. All I have to be is connected to the internet and it is busy backing up files. So easy. Plus, I can access my backed up files anywhere from any computer or smart phone with the free app.
computer backup
It’s really reasonably priced too. It costs $59 dollars a year for unlimited backup for your PC or Mac with anytime any where access. You can even try it free for 15 days – no credit card required and if you choose to buy you get 2 months for free.
The offer code BLOGAD will get you two months for free.
Its been around since 2005 and has already successfully recovered over 7 billion files that would have otherwise been lost, FOREVER! I also enjoy that Carbonite reminds me of Star Wars and that stuff that Han Solo was frozen in! (I’m a nerd. I know.)
Anyway, it takes the worry out of back up by securely and automatically backing up my files. Fast easy and hassle free. My favorite things. It would break my heart to lose pictures of my kids.
I have over 30,000 pictures (I know that is totally ridiculous). How sad I would be if my computer crashed and they were lost. 5 bucks a month is a bargain when I imagine losing my pictures. If you don’t have back up already – you should check it out!
