This Fall Wreath is such an easy and gorgeous addition to any front door. It definitely brings that natural element I love about this season, but also is full of fun color. It is just right for the whole season, so feel free to make it in August or September and leave it up until after Thanksgiving!
Fall Wreath with Twisted Fabric Flowers
It’s feeling a lot like fall around here. It was 101 disgusting degrees two days ago and today it’s a perfect 65! I don’t even know how that’s possible – but, it’s crisp outside and I decided it was time for a new fall wreath!
I picked up a grapevine wreath at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago when they were half off. Then, I grabbed some burlap out of the stash and got to work. Just in case you don’t have these items on hand, I have a solid supply list below to help you out.
Supplies Needed:
Burlap in various colors (If you don’t have scraps on hand, this burlap sheets set is ideal since it has multiple colors)
Scissors
Buttons or rhinestones for embellishment
Directions:
First, I cut the fabric into long strips (the longer the strip the larger the flower).
Second, tie a knot on one end. This will be the center of the flower. See below. It’s super easy to do.
Next, you will begin the process of twisting the burlap and gluing it to itself as you twist. Twisting the fabric and securing it with glue about every half inch or so as you wrap it around.
It takes a bit of time, but you could get some help from your kids by letting them hold it or glue while you twist. For a multi-colored flower, you could easily glue two colored strips together so it comes out with a fun colored pattern.
When you get to the end of the material, fold about 1/2 inch of the burlap under the flower and glue it to the back. This makes it more secure and keeps it all twisted together perfectly to form a flower to attach to your super easy fall wreath.
I added some buttons and rhinestones to the middles and then glued them to the fall wreath. I like the look of the bling with the natural grapevine and burlap. It adds a little unexpected interest.
Since fall is my favorite time of year, it makes sense that I would put together this fun fall wreath. I love this way to twist fabric to create flavors, and plan to use it for more wreaths and crafts in the future.
Doesn’t the color just pop against the window and door? This super easy fall wreath featuring twisted burlap flowers is a great idea to make for your door or entryway this year!
