An oldie but a goodie! A classic really. ๐ Doesn’t it remind you of your childhood?
Lucie and I made a few more decorations for Valentine’s Day. She thought it was a fabulous project and loved watching me melt the crayon shavings with the iron. She also thought it was cool how stiff the paper got after we ironed it. It only takes about 20 minutes from start to finish, so it’s a nice quick project with immediate results. I really don’t think I need to explain….but…… ๐
You need:
A few old crayons
a grater (I also cut a few up into larger chunks with scissors)
wax paper
an iron
Grate or cut up some crayons. Scatter the shavings on the wax paper, cover with another piece of wax paper. Place on a towel (in case some leaks out). Iron on low (right on the paper) and watch it melt. Cut out into desired shapes.
I placed a heart doily in the middle before we ironed….to see what would happen….and because we had them. I think it adds a nice Valentines-y touch. ๐

Thanks! The curtains are actually kitchen towels from Martha’s line at Macy’s hung on a cheap tension rod! (I can’t sew….yet) ๐ I do love the colors in them!

First of all…where did you get that tiny grater?? cute. Secondly, Cash and I totally made these, but our colors ran together and ended up making a brown. yuck. I wanted to redo it, but had ran out of wax paper. Once again….we share a brain.

Haha – Isn’t that grater adorable. It’s for garlic. ๐ And get out of my brain!
