one of these is a fake jack-o-lantern and one is my creation…..I’ll let you guess. ๐
The kids and I carved the pumpkin this weekend. Dang….it was HARD. I maintain that I did not have the proper tools and that’s why my pumpkin looks like a child carved it. I have no idea how people make such fancy jack-o-lanterns. Seriously. It was really really hard…..I stuck with the iconic triangle look and it was still stinkin’ hard.
It WAS fun, though.
And the kids liked it.
And I got to roast (and eat) pumpkin seeds – which is the best part.
And the chickens LOVED it! I wonder if their eggs are going to taste like pumpkin. Humm.
I did the carving and they did the scooping, but near the end they really wanted to try the knife part….it was supervised knife handling. I promise I don’t just hand the kids knives and have them go at it. ๐
The bird took it very seriously. She likes a project.
Sam got bored with the pumpkin project and decided he needed to ride Kevin’s creepy squirrel lawn ornament. (we had just ridden horses earlier in the day, I think that’s what gave him the idea… silly bean.) So, he got it out of the flowers where I keep it pretty well hidden. It kept falling over and he just kept setting it back up to ride…..for like 30 minutes!
Be careful with that baby and the knife ๐
Luc loved playing with the pumpkin carving knife, too! Ahhh, they will be besties, too! my camera’s battery died right when we started on the pumpkins!! Yours look great, fake or not! ๐
