taking turns pushing each other through!
I am so proud of myself! I saw this fun idea for a trike / bike / kid wash on here on Mother Lode.
I thought to myself that I could probably do that….I read the Instructables link here, and it seemed pretty do-able. I printed it off and took a little trip to Lowes, where I found everything I needed for about 17 dollars.
It would have been more like 12 dollars – but I decided to made some modifications – which cost around 5 extra. 🙂 I am also quite proud of my modifications! I decided that it would have too big of a footprint and I didn’t want to give up that much space in our garage over the winter, spring and fall. So….I made the bottom feet so that you can unscrew them. Another plus of making it unscrewable is that now you can drain out the extra bit of water that gets stuck- where as before, it would just have to sit in there forever. Gross. And destructive to the PVC if it freezes.
This might be the very first thing ever that I have made from start to finish with tools – all by myself. 🙂 I used a saw, a drill, a measuring tape and PVC glue. It took about two hours to get everything cut, glued and all the misters pushed in (that was the hardest part) The kids love it.
It’s nice and refreshing and I made it all by myself! The neighbors get a kick out of it, too. I think if my kids could ride a bike – they would love it even more. I love the pictures that MotherLode took of her kids riding bikes through. Very cute! I think we are going to try out that bike painting idea that she put on the same post, too. Then we can wash off in the sprinkler. 🙂
Here is the modification part. 🙂
You can put it over a pool, a sidewalk, your yard….whatever! The Instructable site even has a way to link a bunch of them together or link them with other water toys! Make your own neighborhood water park.

You are so your father’s daughter (and mother’s too!) Glad it can be taken apart because I expect to have it set up at my house for the next Zimmer reunion!
