I saw this clever little idea in a magazine the other day. I can NOT remember which one. I’ve just flipped through my stash so that I can give credit where credit is due – but I can’t find it again! Sorry. Ahhh. I thought I would share it anyway.
Use an old mason jar and metal chick feeder as a candy dish! CLEVER and cute. The magazine said that these chick feeders are very easy to find at flea markets or you can even buy a new one at your local farm supply store. Best part is….they’re only a few bucks. Pair it with a small mouthed mason jar and you have a fun new candy dish. Well, lucky me – I happened to already have the chick feeder / mason jar combo….from feeding the chicks! They are on to a much bigger feeder now – so I won’t be needing this one for a LONG time. I ran it through the dishwasher a few times and here we go – a spanking new kitchy candy dish….to feed a bird, a bean and a husband!
It is currently filled with the new and ROCKIN‘ delicious pretzel M&M’s!!! Why the heck did it take them sooo long to invent these!?? They are AWESOME! Go and get your self a bag right this instant! But, if you are going to do the chick feeder candy dish – get a slightly smaller candy. Maybe Skittles or jelly beans – Oooo… jelly beans would be cute! The Pretzel M&M’s …while freaking delicious – are a little too big and kind of hard to get out…..but maybe that’s a good thing! 🙂
That’s a cute idea Erin. Looks like Sam definitely likes the idea too.
Yum and cute! Being limited on how many m & m’s I can eat may be a good thing!
