Two great things came in the mail today. First is my check from ebates!! Hooray. It’s for 20.51. All just for buying things that I was going to buy anyway. Some of my friends have gotten 50 at once! It’s the best ever. You get paid for buying things online from certain stores if you go to ebates first (over 1200 stores – including ebay). It is the easiest 20 bucks I’ve ever made. You basically get a percentage of your purchase back. Sign up under me if you are thinking about it. Then we will both get 5 bucks. 🙂
The second exciting thing in my mailbox today was the new issue of Family Fun. It is a super cute little magazine with clever ideas for crafts and recipes for kids. They have the sweetest things to do for all the seasons and holidays. I love it. I can’t wait until the bird is a little older. I will definitely be trying this cute bird project. I think that this butterfly snack bag idea is adorable for spring outings. And I believe that I will be attempting to make this hobbyhorse later in the weekend (I knew I saved those fuzzy socks for a reason). This alphabet game is just what I need to play with Lucie. She will love it! A grass-a-pillar!! Yes please. Lucie has been all about sprouts and plants lately. This is the perfect project for us to do now – since it’s still to cold to plant the garden. The rainbow cupcakes on the last page are super cute and easy.
I made them in December for Lucie’s potty party. December 17th to be exact. It was the first day I had off of work for Christmas and decided that it was time! Lucie was ready and I had everything we needed to be potty trained. So the whole day was dedicated to pottys. Kids DVDs and books from the library all centering around the subject. That is all we read and watched and talked about… the whole day. We had a brand new baby doll with her very own baby doll potty (she actually peed.) We were set.The bird did both on the potty that day. What a good day. So, we had a potty party that night – as promised. I made those cupcakes and we went to the bouncy house place with Kevin, Sam, Heather and Michael for bouncing, pizza and rainbow cupcakes. She still talks about her potty party. It made quite an impression. I’m sure it was my cupcakes. She has only had one accident since her potty training day (so far). At a bookstore. How embarrassing. (for me)
The cupcakes are so easy – there is a link above for some directions from Family Fun, but I will explain it …. all you do is make a yellow or white cake mix with directions from the box and divide it into 6 bowls as evenly as you can. Then add food coloring until each bowl is one of the colors of the rainbow. Then you put a spoonful of each color into a muffin tin – one at a time. I like how each one looks a little bit different on the inside after they are baked.

Big slide with daddy.
I couldn’t resist putting this picture up. Classic. Her outfit for the next two weeks (while at home) always included some elements from this one. (Easy off for all the potty drills)

AND…OMG…I absolutely L-O-V-E those legg warmers! Almost makes me want to try for a third kid, just in hops of having a girl to run around in pull ups and leg warmers!
